Five Rites Tip – The five rite monk diet includes separate food intake. Fruit is eaten by itself by at least 20 minutes. Starches (breads, rice, cereals, grains, potatoes) are eaten separately from protein (fish, meat, nuts, dairy). Dessert or something sweet is rarely eaten at all. It is given the space of hours around other foods.
